    Closer Look at Pacman/Clottey.

Take a look at these yourself.

To be honest, when I look at these stats I cant really get angry at Clottey at all. Pacman wasnt even close to throwing this many punches against his other opponents. I feel like it was just masterful planning by roach to keep clottey in his shell, and they did just that.

It says a lot tho how much less clottey managed to get hit with that many more punches thrown, and he definitely was very accurate. I just wish he'd have opened up more and taken risks. He fought a scared fight, and I'm personally so disapointed because of it.

I personally feel as though no other fighter other than pacman could have done this to him, though. Hats off to pac, he definitely made an impression on me now.

I still see Floyd giving him fits though. I don't know how many punches pac thinks he can throw at a mobile opponent. We can't really say pacs workrate will be the tailing stat for pac, because his punch output slowed drastically against cotto once cotto began to use his bike. Assuming Floyd is on his bike from opening bell, i think it speaks volumes on how often pac will get off.

Just my personal thoughts on it.

pac will throw a career low in punches if he fights floyd and his connect percentage will be worse than it was against clottey(20%)

floyd will make pac think twice about throwing punches

fight with Clottey was a tuneup for Pac to prepare for a possible showdown with Floyd

I'm sorry i know I seem like I'm on a pac team bashing tirade today but "Master planning"??? lol I bet that master planning went something like this. "While clottey is standing in place with his guard up high keep throwing punches like you do in every other fight" lol

            Agreed.

And big ups to clottey for weathering the storm. He could have fought on his bike like others have done but instead he continued to use his shield and press pacman. He just wouldn't open the hell up lol. But then again, how could he? pac was very active.

yeah it would have been, i think clottey's knows he would have gotten hurt and possibly KO'd if he let his hands go. He should have taken the risk though, especially after losing the first 6 rounds, if not for himself than for the fans. Manny tried to make it a good fight, but clottey just wouldn't come out of his shell.

Lmao, nah man. I'm devastated.. I'm a HUGE clottey fan, I idolize teh dude and his style. I've honestly molded my own around his. But I have to be honest. Roach and his team knew that more activity than the norm would definitely keep Clottey shelled, and they did that.

If you look at the stats you'll see, pac didn't " kee pthrowing punches" like in every other fight. he threw more than usual, a lot more.

Yeah man, it's fascinating to think what Pac/Roach's gameplan would be against Floyd, because he obviously can't just go hell for leather...can he?

You'd think he'd have to be a little smarter. Choose his shots a little more carefully and then you're getting in to a cat and mouse game of which Mayweather is the undoubted master.

It's just a beautiful, fascinating fight in every aspect.

100 % disagree, manny will in no way be fazed by floyd's counter punches, manny will outwork, out punch, and will move move more than him. just my opinion though. I think manny is without a doubt the best WW in the world.
