~The REAL REAL Consequences of Last Night~

even floyd wouldn't be able to figure out clottey. floyd won't be able to potshot clottey and floyd's speed would intimidate clottey so clottey wouldn't throw many punches.

let there be no mistake about it, clottey/floyd is a close fight, not a shut out. but floyd would still win.

pac vs floyd won't be epic because floyd has the same defensive mindset as clottey. both floyd and clottey can get stuck in a defensive shell. clottey puts up the high guard and waits out the storm. floyd will run run run until the 12th round. believe me, if pac/floyd isn't EPIC, it will be because floyd will be too scared to engage.

Pac not only will be competitive with floyd, but beat him. you seen how defensive minded boxers get stuck playing defense too much and forget to play some offense.

floyd is not faster than pac, and floyd for sure doesn't throw as many punches as pac. it doesn't matter what floyd does... running, peekaboo, or shoulder roll, if he playing defense, he's not scoring points with punches. you can't win fights unless you throw punches.

If any momentum is killed, its by defensive minded boxers like floyd and clottey who refuse to engage and stink out the joint.

PAC IS COMING TO FIGHT... FLOYD IS COMING TO RUN you will see this in the mosley/floyd fight. it will be boring because floyd will not engage.

The real real consequence: WE KNOW PAC/FLOYD IS GONNA BE A BORING FIGHT BECAUSE FLOYD WON'T ENGAGE. The real consequence is that everyone now knows that mosley/pac is a better fighter than pac/floyd. if we are lucky, mosley will beat floyd.

That's the biggest problem with beating Pac, he just doesn't stop moving and throwing shots. A nightmare for the defensive fighter, because the storm doesn't cease.

The only way Floyd can beat Pac, is to shift and move while countering.

If you notice in Pac's last two fights - Pac is a killer with a stationary target.

Clottey was mainly a stationary target the whole fight, so for Pac, it resembled a workout on the heavy bag.

Cotto started the same way against Pac - Too flat-footed. But once Cotto started moving he was able to capitalize on Pac's aggressiveness and got in some excellent counter shots. Pac's punch output went down dramatically because he had to pursue his target.

That's the key to victory ..... Do Not Try To Fight Pac Flat-Footed!!!!!!!

I don't agree with this. I usually agree with you but I don't agree with this. Clottey's defensive mind set is to cover up. Mayweather's defensive mindset is to counter. There was times Clottey was trying to walk down Pac without throwing punches. Mayweather is going to be on the retreat but believe me he will hit Pacquiao alot more than Clottey did because he will take advantages of the openings unlike Clottey.

I think Floyd shuts out Clottey 120-108 just like Pac did.

He would throw far less than Pac, but he'd get hit less aswell. It would be boring as **** but i'd be surprised if Clottey could take more than 1 or 2 rounds versus Floyd.

People seem to ignore the fact that Pac is just as fast. Blindingly fast, in fact. Pac is most vulnerable when he seems to be taking time out which is in the middle and later rounds. I doubt if you could even go that far without first going through Pac's best and raining punches. I'd agree that Mayweather's best defense would the usual thing: run, run and run. He won't engage with Pac.

the problem with your post is that Floyd is obviously better at countering than Clottey and unlike Clottey he will be looking to counter all night. And he will connect. which will immerse as most effective? Floyd's ability to counter or Manny's ability to overwhelm.

Mosley's fight will give us a glimpse of how the floyd of today will do with mosley's pressure. I'm not one of the majority that has to see floyd vs manny. I'd love to see it but would rather see mosley / manny
