Many people believe that Mannys performance against Clottey is a clear indicator of how he will do against Mayweather....
Well I personally disagree I believe the comparison can be found with Paul Williams and his fights against Winky Wright and Sergio Martinez allow me to explain...
Wright is kind of like Clottey in a sense where he has hands high traditional defense and attempts to catch you with counter punches that way. He isn't really slick, lacks the angles finese footspeed and movement that more pure boxers have.....Williams who is a high action high output southpaw with great boxing skills made this fight look easy
However against Martinez who I would call the "Mayweather" of this comparison has more tools in his toolbox what I mean is handspeed footspeed superior movement angles, tricker......Williams was battered bruised and looked hurt at the end of this fight.
NOW......the point of this comparison is NOT to compare Williams with Manny or Martinez with Mayweather....
The point is too illustrate that "styles make fights" and that a fighter can look completely different even against two counter punchers....
