Clottey is physically bigger than Pac, so if he lands solidly swollen eyes is an expectation, at no point was Clottey even in the same vicinity as being close to "competitive".
instead of assuming what you have, instead let me explain to you.
i have heard roache numerous times this past year saying he wants pac to retire after 2010. i took the observation he made against odlh and applied it here.
also you have roache who has punch induced parkinsons therefore allowing myself to strongly believe he will be looking out for pacs health and future moreso than a normal trainer without that diesease.
having ****ing said that, from what i hear pac fought flawlessly...cong**** pac
and for you, dont reply to post like a douchebag anymore

If you follow boxing, then you know this is exactly how the fight would play out - Pac throwing like crazy and Clottey blocking like crazy. Pac fights going forward and Clottey fights out of a shell. They have two completely contrasting styles. Too be honest, I was expecting Pacquiao to knock the bigger Clottey out for two reasons. The first is because of the sheer volume of punches Pac puts out to overwhelm his opponents and secondly because although Clottey is a defensive fighter, he IS NOT a counter puncher. So, as some have said, I believe this fight was tailor made for Pac. If you look at the compubox stats, the proof is in the numbers.
I will tell you what though...I'm a little perplexed at Pac walking out of the fight with two shiners. I ask myself, "If Clottey's output was so low, if he truly was so ineffective, then how in the world did Manny's face end up like that?" and conversely, "If Manny put on such a masterful performance, then why doesn't Clottey's face show it? Why wasn't he wobbled? Why was his spirit not broken?"
Rather than giving me more insight into Pacquiao's greatness, this fight leaves me asking more questions than it does answers. How would Pac fare against the likes of Mosley, Alexander, or even Bradley? These guys are not only able to slip and block punches, but they hit back have great ring generalship and are just as fast as he.
A fight against any of the fighters mentioned above would prove to be among the likes of which we have not seen in a very, very, long time.

Originally posted by ALG United View PostMy analogy to your questions, as was already said before in this forum, clottey has a style that would make a great boxer look like just a good one or at an extent, an above average fighter. Because clottey fights out of a shell and would rather wait forever for his opponent to make a mistake or loose steam before launching his own attacks. Thus when he first tasted manny's right hook flush to his face in the 1st round, joshua didn't dare lower his guard anymore and just waited for his opportunity to come, and in this case it didn't. NOW, the black eyes on manny's face, manny has to take big risks to lure clottey into a fight for joshua to open up and make connections with his combos. Manny was literally sticking his face in front of clottey to bait him for a fight, yes he paid dearly by absorbing some of those hard rights and left uppercuts, but clottey also missed a lot of them, and in the process manny was able to connect with his combos. It's just fortunate that clottey is naturally gifted with a thicker skin and also somehow with his shell like defense was able to lessen the sting of the punches landing on him..

So your response is well Pac/PBF would be even more boring. Naw leave Floyd out of this he has his own fight coming up. Last night was all about Pac. And he was in a boring fight period!! He made his name by knocking out old, weight drained, over the hill boxers with big names. And now he fights someone with something left in the tank and not only does he not get the ko but it's a decision and a booooring one at that. It just goes to show you without the knockouts Pac's fights aren't so exciting anymore. truth hurts??
