    Young prospects stepping up

OK, one thing I don't get from alot of posters here is the gbp curse. Yes some of the young fighters have lost coming up, ortiz and linares for example. But why do some young fighters lose? Maybe because they put them up against good competition. Isn't one of the things that wrong with boxing is these promoters putting up young fighters vs bums and getting people for there money. Like chavez jr or duddy? So when people say gbp doesn't do it right is bull****. I rather find out what a young fighter is made of instead of watching them fight 30 bums in a row. Now we got El Canelo coming up at 19 yrs old wanting a top 10 ww. If he losses he loses, but let's see what he's got. Don't give me this ruining young prospects bull**** because it's how alot of mexican fighters come up. JMM and even Hopkins lost real early i believe....So what you guys think 30 bums or a step up and maybe a lose?

i agree with you,too many boxers build up there rep by fighting bums, nothing wrong with one or two losses on your record

I reject that there is only 2 routes (30 bums or step up big and lose).

how about REALLY developing your prospect, but setting benchmarks and deliberately increasing the difficulty of his competition as he progress.

Oh i agree with you bro. Step up your competition every fight and set some bench marks. But it seems like top rank throws bums at there prospects and gbp is giving them tough competition. I think gbp is doing it closer to what we think is the right way. The only fighters from top rank that are stepping up are guys that had small promotions that got with top rank to make there fighters bigger names
