vol 61, issue 20 of Boxing News has a page on steroids written by Gavin Evans titled "Toney Drugs Shock? It's No Shock At All."
In it Evans talks about the lack of testing or punishment for drugs, and ponders how prevelant it is in the sport, particularly at the highest level.
One quote puzzled me, relating to steroids side effects: "when a boxer puts on 2st within two years, develops an increasingly muscular physique, has pimples on his back, and shows bizarre behaviour inside and outside the ring (to take an example from a prominent heavyweight)"
Now, they didn't name names, so I was puzzled as to who they meant. Or is it famous and I just missed it?
But I was reminded of it - and I'm not saying anything here, make up your own minds - when watching the Saturday night fight. Look at Golota's back.
