Bonsante does hit hard but I agree with you. He has as much chance as Gatti does at beating PBF

I have to see that fight. Ishe is going to tear him up, just like he wanted to.

after jesse koed bonsante i dont see him surviving against ishe.

but who knows. bonsante lost a 12rd decision to manfredo before
the contender began. he can compete at least. unlike brent cooper

ishe might outbox anthony, but i dont know if he can blow him out like jesse did... like soemone else said anthony did go the distance with peter, who i think is a bigger puncher than ishe...

im not so sure about manfredo being a bigger puncher but my
mom thinks so , so its probable. bonsante seems a big puncher but
without much skill. plus he doesnt handle right upper cuts well

it makes me sad that the two boxing-related shows are being cancelled after one season. its just another attest to boxing being such a cult sport. that's pretty ****ty. HBO needs to step in and get their people in on it, then we might actually see a quality product.putting stallone in was the first mistake of the contender, shouldve put atlas or someone in there, not stallone.you dont put a powdered his whole life actor who only acted like a boxer in a film..on a show as a host for boxers, true contenders.steve farhood would've been better than stallone, jesus.HE HAS A NOSEJOB FOR ****S SAKE, HAHA.

i think they need to take away the personal stuff and show more sparring, show more things of that nature. you know the people who tune into the show dont want to see what hes going through with his mom girlfriend or w/e (at least i dont)..i want to see how he trains, how he throws his combos, how he gets his shots off on a bag etc.

also if theres another boxing show, editing the fights like they did was a huge mistake, they need to show the fight regularly from different angles with replays.

having said all that ,i haven't watched The Contender or The Next great champ more than 1 or 2 times each, all that personal bull**** isnt my flavor of entertainment,. but tonight ill watch the finale.

Well said slipx! The emotional mumbojumbo is for survivor and other reality shows. These are real contender boxers trying to make a stand for the first time, keep an already prized boxing career alive, or a last stand at boxing before retirement. Stallone is a great actor despite what you might say, but I agree, what relevance or motivation can he bring since he was a boxer in a MOVIE!!! Sugar Ray was a good decision, but they should've brought a famour trainer or another famous boxer along for the ride. Maybe one of the main reasons this show or the great champ is being cancelled is that it didn't do as well as people say in the ratings. There could be a million reasons, but from my biased opinion, I enjoyed the show because it is boxing. Whether they throw in a few emotional ties and trash talk, it is an experience no boxer will ever go through-training around their competition. Hopefully the finale will be a turning point in some producers mind to create another season or a whole other boxing reality show with a different name under it. Stay tuned...

But I'm stilled pissed how people voted more for Brent than Reid (who is an ezcellent boxer).

Their both from Tennesse and both suck

                    Reid may be ok

but Cooper lost to a Reggie Strickland and couldnt pull it off in the rematch..

                    Saddest story EVER

                    LOL!
