    Castillo vs Gomez

I seem to be one of the few looking forward to the undercard tomorrow. Main reason being these are fighters we don't often see here in Australia.

But man do I want to see Jose Luis Castillo win. Just reading again about his professional problems and the deaths of his siblings. I truly want this man to recapture his best form once more and go out on a high.

How do you all rate his chances against Gomez?

Man I would love to see him win, but honestly it's very unlikely. He's beyond shot at this point, I can't even give him a punchers chance because he didn't carry his power up to WW. What really saddens me is to see an average fighter like Gomez beating another once-great fighter.

That's the feeling I have. I love JLC and I truly hope he proves me wrong. All the others can get ****ed, I just want to see Castillo win.

I don't think Gomez is all that average. Since leaving the Contender series he's won all his fights (except of course against Cotto) in pretty spectacular fashion, most by knockout. His fights are never boring, and he has tons of heart. He should take this one though, if he truly is going somewhere.

I haven't paid any attention to Castillo since his loss to Hatton. I still think Castillo has enough left to beat Gomez, I cant see this going the distance so I'm picking Castillo to win in the 8th. I'd hate to see Gomez stop Castillo like he did to Gatti.

Castillo is shot and only fights for money. Gomez gatties him sadly.

Gomez is becoming kind of a 'legend killer.' First Gatti, now Castillo, who next? Roy Jones?...

Gomez is going to retire him tonite. Castillo has had a good long career. I not sold to
much on Gomez, after tonite he has to get back in with a champ or contender.
