yeah I re-watched this a couple weeks ago and Clottey has underrated speed and he also dealt with Judah's fast hands very well.
Just re-watched Judah/Clottey

Me? i slightly favor pacquiao to win a close UD maybe SD. BUT, i see a scenario where clottey would win. if he gets his lead straight right hand going good, that will get him inside to work the body, and if he lands enough combinations to the body i see clottey winning by TKO between rounds 9-12. Either way i see a very exciting competitive fight, i do not think people realize how much naturally bigger and how much more mass clottey has than pacquiao, you will see tomorrow night. just my two cents on this very intriguing matchup.
I can't picture Josh being hurt by anything Pac throws tbh.Comment

i just watched it the other day, I thought Judah fought the wrong fight by fighting close, wasn't really impressed with Clottey as he didn't utilize the jab (unlike the Cotto fight)
when Judah was flurrying, Clottey couldn't do anything but go into shell mode.
just my take.Comment

I agree.
Clottey displayed his ability to put a variety of different punches together to the body and head.
He showed he had good handspeed and he has a very good right hand lead.
His jab is good also.Comment

Yea, also let me say this and im not saying this means anything....but i saw a look on josh's face at the weigh in that was so serious it was almost intimidating...i don't know what this means exactly...but something is telling me an upset IS indeed brewing..Comment

Clottey has very underrated hand speed and a wide range of punches when he lets his hands go......its not a automatic gimme fight for Pac as some would have you think.
Clottey has the capability to win but its just him that holds him back.....he doesn't punch with enough frequency and when he should sometimes.Comment

I've been saying forever now that Clottey clearly has faster hands than the current version of Mosley, and people try and tell me I'm crazy.Comment

I don't think he dominated, Judah did well early on and got out of Clottey's range. Clottey started to beat him up toward the end of the fight, shame it didn't continue.Comment

This fight is one of the reasons I give him Clottey a shot at winning though I can't say I'm picking him too. Judah is a southpaw with similar speed and power to Pacquiao and he picked off just about everything he threw and was landing lead right hands on hooks on him return on night. I think Judah is also probably better as slipping punches then Pacquiao. Even though Pacquiao put on an amazing offensive performance against Cotto, he was getting tagged in return quite a bit. The difference here is that Clottey has similar offense skills but he'll be able to block most of the return fire while Cotto couldn't. Cotto usually drops one hand on defense and while he was often able to slip the first punch Pacquiao threw he couldn't get out of the way of the next 2 or 3 that came immediately afterwards while Clottey always has his hands up on defense which I think will be more effective.
Don't get me wrong - Judah isn't Pacquiao. He won't fade in the same way and he'll be a lot more active offensively plus I'm sure Roach will have a great gameplan. All I'm saying is that I think this fight will be more competitive then people think.Last edited by βetamax; 03-12-2010, 08:13 PM.Comment
