Comments Thread For: Manny Pacquiao vs. Joshua Clottey: The Stage is Set

There are no more superlatives to describe pound-for-pound king Manny Pacquiao and the $1.2 billion Dallas Cowboys stadium deep in the heart of Texas where WBO welterweight champion Pacquiao stars in “The Event” against former champion and No.1 contender Joshua Clottey of Ghana on Saturday. I think Manny's achivements are bringing a message to new boxers.

For years, all boxers have fought below there natural weight to have a size advantage. They sacrifice to make weight and dehydrate themselve at wegith-in. This obvioulsy depletes them and zaps their energy come fight night...... it seems that as long as both fighters go through the same process.... none hold an advantage.

But here comes Many.... even when he is 5 to 10 pounds under his opponent.... he is not dehydrated and posses all his speed and power. We've seen the outcome with Hatton, ODH and Cotto.

Maybe the size he is giving to bigger guys he makes up for not having to punish his body to make weight........
