I do have to give Ray Robinson respect in the fact the dude fought so many ****in fights, its unbelievable, but most of those fights were probably against nobodys..
No, those fights were not against nobodies. Back then you couldn't win paper belts and fight nobodies, if you were a champion in a division you were fighting the best they had to offer. Sugar Ray Robinson fought more great fighters than Pac or Floyd have easily. Yes those fighters then had nobodies, but to get to a level where you were competing for or defending a title, you were beating great fighters. Floyd would have to do A LOT at 147 and 154 along with a decent run at 160 to compete with that.

I dont think the 160 run would be needed if he unified all titles in 147 and 154

Jesus christ, I know people find it hard to have perspective when they're caught up in the moment, but this is ridiculous.

Floy Mayweather, I despise the guy, but he's clearly an ATG if he beats Mosley and Pacquiao. In such a case he would have reigned in one of the greatest eras ever for the weights he's been in.

You're talking about people like Pacquiao, De La Hoya, Mosley, Cotto, Marquez, Judah, Hatton, Margarito, Clottey, Morales, Barrera. All those people have fought each other and Mayweather's fought most of them. If he beat Mosley and Pac he'd be the king of all those guys because either he or Pac would have beaten all those guys yet Mayweather would have also defeated Pac and somehow remained undefeated? That would be incredible.

all he has to do to be the goat is whoop on sugar shane and pacquiao. Cus if pacquiao beats mayweather after he beats mosley, people will say he is the goat, so that fight will determine it.

That's exactly what Im saying man, how can you deny this man as an ATG? The ignorance of some is beyond me!

Thank you, if he beats pac and shane this year he's good in my eyes..but it always will be some young guys 2 years from now and everyone will be like he's ducking alexander and bradley..when will enough be enough? There no one at 54 I'd like to see him fight except for a Paul williams maybe.. There will always be challengers out there. We can only compare him realistically to the folks in his own area..I personally never seen Robinson or Lamotta fight except on you tube or espn classic, I wasn't born when they were champs...I couldn't gauge the competition. We don't know the circumstances around those old fights like we know today. 50 years from now folks won't know that clottey didn't have his trainer with him to fight Pac-man..stuff like that happens and we only know cause were from this era.

I don't think he will be the GOAT but to say that he needs to have a run at 160 is a bit unfair considering he started at 130...I dunno man people recently seem to have forgotten his reign and 130 and hold him to a crazy standard. Not that it would necessarily be beyond him to compete at 160 he'd have to keep his reflexes in tact though.
