"poor heavyweight divsion" discrimination against dominant white boxers

No but his style is exciting to the regular American viewer. Klits are very technically sound, but considered boring to watch by casual viewers. Generally, when people watch a HW fight, they don't wanna see a boxing clinic. Plus, Pac's story is intriguing to most people. His jump in weight classes is nothing short of amazing. HW's are kinda short changed for being big.Comment

Fighting mostly outside of USA, having a boring style, being in a weak division and not being able to see the best fight each other are factors.Comment

Not the greatest example seeing how most of the American media pulled a 180 on Pacquiao. All it took was a former crackhead with no evidence throwing baseless accusations against Pac because he was getting more attention than his son. Nor is he a HW.
Before the Taylor KO the majority of American viewed AA as a Euro bum who was protected in Germany and who won a fixed decision against Miranda in their 1st fight. The rematch in the US helped but acting like America loved AA is ridiculous. Nor is he a HW.
Being in the HW division and being white is a bit of a factor but it has far more to do with them being from Eastern Europe imo.
America was friendly while a drunk degenerate Yeltsin was turing Russia into a black ***ing hole but once ***** started improving the country the US media reverted back to the Cold War mentality.Comment

Its the truth..tyson era was weaker than wlads era, lennox era was equal if not weaker than vitali current domination, yet because they are white, and the self hating white media are scared that its obvious the eastern block are about to completely take over boxing from middle weight division upwards they denounce it...
This is purely down to race...what the klits are doing imo is G.O.AT ****...but because they are white spanking all these black usa boxers in front of millions of people they hate it...
Thats the truth...
its clear that tyson was a more skilled boxerComment

I think it's more about style & image. I know you see all the hate for Floyd.
All that white guilt Michael Savage **** is nothing but racist bull**** that refuels the white superiority complex (an excuse to be racist.
Name one white boxer that came through like Tyson/Pacman. ...don't worry I'll wait.
People don't like boxing that why k.o artist get all the attention.
Joe is highly underrated but his highlights kind of suck and he slaps sometimes, nobody likes that. Joe also beat 2 American favorites and retired, what do you expect.
Also Ali was hated and people swear RJJ fought nothing but bums his entire career but guess what? He was extremely entertaining.
That white guilt **** is skinhead/supremacy ****.
Once again Floyd is arguably the best boxer around but all that maatters is a k.o.
Look at Shane he is more feared than respected.Comment

My take is that boxing has taken a nosedive in popularity in the States. It's been discussed before, but not having it on free TV like it used to be in the past, plus the fact that PPV often disappoint for the $50 price tag has discouraged potential fans to care about boxing. Then you add boxing shooting itself in the foot for all its ******, ****ed-up behavior that includes atrocious scoring amongst its biggest cancers. It all turns people off.
Boxing relies a lot on the casual fan and that person typically enjoys blood and guts. You need certain type of fighters (warriors and gladiators with an exciting style) to get non-hardcore fans excited. Or you need drama. Boxers like FMJ may be criticized for their fighting style but they can still create interest with their big mouths. The USA, for better or worse, eats that **** up. The K Bros. heavily accented English and personalities don't really fit that mold.
Plus, in boxing, you're always gonna have the large portion of the audience gravitate towards "their own kind." It's ******, but white Americans would rather support Americans that Eastern Europeans, for the most part. (Of course, there's plenty of hardcore fans that just love boxing period, but they watch streams and don't buy PPVs).
I don't watch UFC or mixed martial arts or whatever it's called, but I've heard that all the fighters fight each other. If that's true, boxing needs to get back to that. May vs. Pac not happening is another reason for people who don't have a clue about boxing to **** on boxing. And in a way, they're right. It's lame when the biggest fights don't happen for whatever reasons.
Oh, and another thing, shady promoters. A lot of boxers, especially heavyweights it seems, end up broke. Why would young kids want to go into a painful sport where they could potentially die just for some old **** to steal all their money? Not a lot of motivation there.Comment

Regarding MMA, it's not true that everyone fights everyone, for example Kimbo Slice is being protected because he's a cash cow, Lesnar vs Fedor has not happened even though a lot of people want it, etc. But yeah, the big fights happen a lot more than in boxing for the most part, because most of the fighters fight for the same promotion (UFC), so they fights can be easily made. But that also hurts the fighters because it decreases their earning potential.Comment

People always crap on the HW division. Louis had his "bum of the month" club. If his era was looked upon as a strong HW era then he'd more often than not be ranked as the #1 HW all-time, not Ali. Marciano's often gets knocked for his opposition, which reflects on how people think of that HW era of the 50s. The contenders he didn't face (Baker, Valdez, Henry, etc...), I don't hear anyone talking about how great they were either.
The 80s HWs were labeled "The Lost Generation of Heavyweights". Holmes frequently gets knocked for his opposition as a champion. Tyson often does too. People loved Tyson because of his style and charisma, but no one talks about the 80s being some great era of the HWs. In fact, it's infamous for all the underachievers it spawned.
Hell, in the early to mid 90s, while a lot of people loved the HW division, there were still others who said it was weak and used the fact that 40+ year olds like Holmes and Foreman being major players as evidence at how weak it was. Now I often hear people say it was the 2nd best HW era ever other than the early to mid 70s.Comment
