REason being, some trainers feel as though (fighters too) that you may see something in 1 fight and solely begin to expect/look for that 1 thing and be tricked in the ring. Always expect the fighter infront of you to change according to his opponent. If Clottey is nothing like Cotto, i doubt he expects to learn anything from teh cotto fight, because he most likely assumes Mannys game will be entirely different.

if anyone should watch film it's the trainer, not the fighter.
This is what my trainer taught me, and i couldn't agree more.
just because your trainer said so doesnt mean its how its done. this is a field i get my hands wet in and many of the fights in my archive make it to their table.

if their not watching film their either lying or ******. i'm very close with some name writers and ive gotten fights for many pro outfits.

i cant man, do you realize how many people in the biz read this forum? do you realize how many fighters post here under pen names? many.

there are other ways to find out ones identity without having a name in front of them.
Well that is my point well known to the casual fans. So he could afford to throw the fight cuz he was going to get a second shot. Clottey is not known to the casual fans. And, this is his last chance to make something out of his career. So why would he throw this fight. I understand if he was well known or a fighter who has a lot of hype to him. But, Clottey is neither.

casual fans know clottey. he may not be a household name but people know him, now more than ever.

all im saying is if a fighter known to casual fans is takin a dive for 5 figures, i mean do you realize what 5 figures means? its garbage. if i was able to say more you would be thinking the same thing as me. i just cant go any further, i know you dont know me from a hole in the wall but its true this stuff happens. just put it this way the instance i mentioned had food on his plate with more to come. he was forced into it.

im not saying either i know hes gonna take a dive just talkin. could be off cus im jus' guessin.
