No he didn't. Clottey didn't do enough in the last 2 rounds to take the fight. Cotto, with basically one eye, went out swinging, and the fight ended with a perfect Cotto left hook to Clottey's jaw.

Pac fought a great fight. He's got the best training him. Cotto had no plan, a really lame corner-trainer, and underestimated pac. Even if he didn't underestimate him and had a great trainer, i think Pac still would have won.

Cotto's style isn't a good matchup for Pac. Pac is too dynamic, has a bloodlust when things get intense, and his pure love of fighting makes him what he is. I never seen a boxer love to fight so much since Ali, and maybe Tyson, when he was on top of his game.
