You are correct. Clottey gives too many rounds away. He just seems to cover up if his opponent is punching and doesn't really attempt to counter punch. I kind of see this fight like Paul Williams vs Winky

Paul Williams has an uncanny reach to try and get around. He also beat an inactive Winky Wright that hadn't fought in about 2 years. Manny doesn't have a reach advantage over Clottey so he's going to have to come in to do his damage. It will be hard for Clottey to beat Manny if he is too passive. Using solid counters throughout the fight and power shots to the body will be his best weapons.

Clottey can't win if he is going to sit back on defense. He will give away too many rds and I don't think he has what it takes to stop Pac. If he want's to win I think he should turn it into a war in rd 1. He is the bigger stronger guy and he might be able to hurt pac if he gets on him right away and tires him out.

Clottey knows how to fight and he is a more technical fighter in the sense that he actually has traditional boxing skills. He is not some strong durable welterweight being walked to the slaughterhouse. Manny can throw as many punches as he wants because the more he throws the more openings Clottey will see. Clottey will be more accurate then Manny. He's going to press the action and Manny will be moving all over the ring on his bicycle trying to pick his spots. Clottey is going to systematically break Manny down with a quick jab, lead rights and hooks to the body. If u listen to Pac fans then Clottey will just show up to pick up his check but what they don't realize is Clottey is coming to pick up his check and his next meal ticket after he relinguishes Manny of all his belts and mystique.
