I didn't say he ducked Cats in lower weights,just they were weak divisions,because guys like Castillo o Chico were in those divisions the bigger names.

Manny is X times tested,Morales tested him the 1st fight,Barrera was a test and P4P number 3,Marquez AT 130 is a ****in hard test(good size,tough,fast,powerfull,accuate,smart with a great trainer).

this fight is not for welterweight championship status.

both guys are currently ranked #2 and #3. the #1 guy just fought the former #2 guy and he's fighting the current #5 guy.

I know the fight is a huge fight...and I'm not concerned with the belts, nor do I think they are.

But the status as the MAN at 147 surely is, if you ask me. I mean, Shane is the MAN at 147 because he beat the MAN (Tony) at 147 who beat the MAN (Cotto) at 147. That is all I'm saying.

STFU, Floyd did fight everyone who mattered. You can't make a case based on Margarito and Cotto alone you know... And Floyd called out Cotto at 140, they wanted none of Floyd. Same with Kostya Tszu. The only top fighters who stepped up to the plate were Castillo, Corrales and Judah. Even Pacquiao is ducking him and he's close to 33. That's how good he is.

i think shane should be #1 at 147 right now myself but i don't get a vote.


the problem is floyd was still considered the champ at 147 when cotto-marg fought.

so it didn't create a new champ of being #1 vs. #2 when marg beat cotto.

marg got the #1 ranking but when he fought mosley , mosley was still ranked below cotto so even marg-mosley wasn't #1 vs. #2.

that's why neither fights created a new champ after mayweather retired.
