Don't know which came first.....but I remember watching Holmes-Cooney and Michael Dokes vs Mike Weaver I think. The Dokes/Weaver fight was over in the first I remember one guy got ******ed in the corner and the ref stopped it prematurely if I remember right....I was real young 10 or under.

Strong words. Holmes-Cooney preceded Dokes-Weaver by about six months. For me, it was probably Holmes-Leon Spinks, but I vaguely remember Ali-Spinks I.

i saw the biggest heavyweight title fight of all time man, the forth coming, Ali vs Holmes, i remember the build up, it was as big as the rumble in the jungle, all the news channels were swamped with it, Ali weighed in at 217 and had turned back the clock to fight Holmes, the event was like nothing ever seen. Shame that Ali had advanced Parkinsons though, i remember after he lost he had an interview and his speach was so slow and his hands were shaking even then. Thank you Don King!
