Alvarez gives him the business right now. Hes more skilled and more techically sound then Jones. Faster and hits harder.

haha you trippin, he ain't more technically sound than Jones. Jones is faster than him too, and he's stronger. Thats a total mismatch physically and skillwise. Jones is comin for you boy PWillies spot!

Jones is a good prospect. Hes not on Alvarez's level IMO. Hes no Paul Williams either...lol. Jones is good we'll see what they trun into.

i agree with this one. jones is more technically sound, better defense, better physical attributes. he also has the faster hands.
saul's punches arent that fast, he just has impeccable timing and very good accuracy. similar to cotto in that aspect.
i guess alvarez could fold jones with a body shot though, but he'd have to get there first.

yep, he's definitely got the Cotto vibe to him. big time jab and left hook to the body and he's clever. I was just watchin the highlights from his last fight, threw two feints with the left and one with the right and set the boy up for a perfect left uppercut. He's the goods

yep, even though he doesnt use the jab a whole lot, he knows how to set up punches with subtle body movements. thats a very advanced skill right there.
like when he was going for the kill, he'd approach his opponent and once he got into range he'd feint, look for a counter, then take a half step back to fill the hole. very patient and intelligent kid saul is.

I like Alvarez and have watched many of his fights but it hard to tell how high to rank him based on the guys he's been fighting. I'd like to see him move up in competition before taking a big jump against one of the top guys.
