    Golota wanted to continue?!?!?

    *********.com

    Golota Statement!
Don King Productions has released the following statement from Andrew Golota: "I understand why the had to stop the fight, but I wanted to continue. I cannot believe this happens to me every decade (referring to Lennox Lewis stopping Golota during the 1990’s), maybe its time for me to think about leaving boxing....I prepared for this fight since the beginning of the year and I cannot believe it is so quickly over."

I'll quote myself from another thread :

Brewster typically comes out more methodical and Golota is a plodding giant with slow yet powerful punches. But Brewster came out with a great game plan and blitzed Golota. He gambled away his stamina, as no heavyweight could possibly keep up that type of attack for 12 rounds. Even Tua and Ibeabuchi had to take some rest.

BUT......No way Golota could have survived that round though coz he got caught with some perfectly aimed left hooks. Even if the ref let him stand up and fight after the third knockdown, he was stunned and bewildered. He was not trained for this onslaught at all during his training.

i would have liked to see Brewster beat him up for a few more round. So that people wouldn't say it was luck. But since i predicted a 1st round KO it worked out for me

well he could have continued and there was no real reason for the referee stopping it....they were more flash knockdowns than brutal......

remember the marquez vs pacman......a very similar thing....

either way, credit to brewster for the win.

I think the three knockdown rule was in effect. Golota looked more hurt after the first knockdown then the last one. The last one he did not look hurt at all. He looked more like he was in shock that he went down. If three KD rule was not in effect and he survived the round (I just could not see that happening) maybe he might have come back because the way Brewster was swinging it looked as though it was only a matter of time before Brewster punched himself out. However even if he survived, Golota does not have the heart that Marquez has so I doubt Golota could have changed the inevitable.

Golota never quit but considering he was down 3 times within 1 minute, Golota was to stiff to that he would have went down about 3 times a minute in that round.

No more chances for Golota. But one thing for sure, these ***** refs these days always prematurely stopping fights.

When you go down 3 times in a minute, I wouldnt want to see it continue either.

always remember you can never stop a fight too early, only too late
