Yes, Juan Carlos Gomez, Chris Arreola, Kevin Johnson and Sam Peter were all easy opponents

The Klitschkos probably paid the Ring so that those guys were ranked in the top 10, those ****ers.

You're being ridiculous. This is his first fight in many years that was not against an opponent ranked in The Ring's top 10, and almost all were ranked in The Ring's top 5. No one should defend his choice of opponent this time, but to pretend he has not generally sought out the best available opponents in the past is just being dishonest - or showing your complete ignorance.

Those who rate Vitali over Wlad don't do so based on resume, they do so based on who they think would win if they fought each other, and on who they think is the tougher opponent for other fighters. And they have a point. Many Haye fans think Haye has a chance against Wlad, but very few think he has a realistic chance against Vitali.

Sosnowski is a more live opponent than Queenpin Johnson, at any rate. He comes in shape and ready to mix it up. As a stay-busy fight until something more appealing comes along, I have no problem with it.

There were a lot of more credible stay busy fights available to him.

Dimitrenko: coming off a loss, hasn't won a fight since 2008, less credible than Sosnowski. If Vitali would have chosen him, the same people would be bitching about it.

Chagaev: already scheduled for eliminator, purses already agreed to & contract signed (he just lost to Wladimir anyway)

Solis: He was a better choice, but Vitali TRIED to get him, maybe he wants to wait until Vitali retires to try for a world title?

Thompson: was KOed already by Wlad, hasn't really fought any better opposition than Sosnowski (Witherspoon isn't very good)

                  Valuev, Povetkin, Pianeta: Sauerland fighters

Valuev, Austin, etc: Don King fighters

Quezeda: less proven even than Sosnowski - his best win is Travis Walker

Boytsov: would have been better than Sosnowski, but his promoter decided he wasn't ready yet, and understandably so

Sosnowski was probably the best available WBC-ranked opponent.

Yes. Sosnowski at least will TRY TO WIN, not just try to survive, unlike the Queenpin.
