Alexander really was impressive last Saturday, but as of now I'm not much of a fan. I still think Bradley beats him over 12 rounds, but if he can pass that test, how couldn't you be a fan of the guy? Floyd is my favorite fighter, but I could give a damn who he passes the "torch" to.

Anyone who does not think that Mayweather has "The Torch" is the same type of irrational hater that I won thousands of dollars from while they bet against one Michael Jeffrey Jordan. The man (Mayweather) is the simply the best and a compliment from him is an honor. Point blank period! I love to see the Pacman do his thing, but I bet Mayweather's eardrum won’t get busted anytime soon like Manny's. I used to like to see Vince carter dunk, but I wasn’t a dumb ass, tunnel vision having ****** who thought he was better than Jordan.

Devon Alexander "THE GREAT" deserved that compliment. He fought a magnificent fight against one of the grittiest, hard hitting and determined competitors in all of boxing (URANGO), and did what so called superstars couldn't do. He broke his nose early and knocked his ass clean out!
Floyd showed some respect to his peer and the haters Still have something to say. Pathetic!

faack khan, ortiz, campbell, and maidana!...this is the true gauntlet in the land of 140 pounds..

HBO Presents: World Championship Boxing- Timothy "Desert Storm" Bradley vs Devon Alexander "The Great" for the undisputed junior welterweight championship of the world. WBC, IBF, WBO unification bout.

Well see how this *knock on wood* fight plays out cuz Timmy's a ShoBox-er and Devon maybe has his thing with HBO, but I'm crossing my fingers for this fight. should be a helluva war.

. As of now , Pacquiao is more deserving of that torch , he is taking on anybody and everybody.
Because Pacquiao is the only fighter in the sport? People need to grow the f#ck up.

Someone like Mayweather showing his confidence in a youth will act as encouragement.

If Fraizer said to someone ''I'll pass the torch on to you'', it'd be ****ing ****** to say ''You have no business passing on a torch, Ali is a greater fighter''.

Guess what? I'm a ******* and a Filipino, I like Devon a lot and congratulate him for stopping Urango. I like Floyd's boxing technique although others say he's running but I know thats part of his strategy, I got used to his oftentimes aggressive comments and i agree that he is one of the best boxers of this era

I've been a fan of Devon probably the longest on here. I been following him since he was fighting in the amateurs when he was just a young teenager. Devon was actually one of Floyd's sparring partners early in his career. He and Cunningham went out to Vegas to prepare Floyd for Zab Judah.

Yea man, its just because its Floyd. No matter what dude says they find a way to twist. I remember when he called Dre Ward before his fight with Kessler and told Dre to be "smart and intelligent" then a guy made a thread saying that was ****** because smart and intelligent have the same meaning..lol

My uncle and his friend that used to fight had a youth boxing foundation called In Your Corner and Devon fought and won one of the tourneys that they put together. He was about 14 or so. Everyone from here knew that if he continued the hard work, he would be world champ one day.

I have NEVER been too fond of Devon being with Don King myself. I've always had a gut feeling that Don would not steer his career in the right direction. I'm praying that it goes well for him on the business side of things since he is dealing with King.

alexander, when you get that torch just dont stand around and wait for it to burn out like floyd did. and dont retire in your prime, in the deepest division in the sport because you think you have nothing left to prove, especially if there is another top fighter that is undefeated. albeit floyd is back in the game, but he did wait for cotto to lose and marg to be out, and williams to move up.

As of now , Pacquiao is more deserving of that torch , he is taking on anybody and everybody. And even tho I have my doubts about his recent success. There is no evidence , So yes , he might be on peds , he might not. But he is doing what he is suposed to do.
                    Amen to that!

It seems like Gayweather is starting to duck Alexander.....better to pass whatever torch (******* TORCH) he carries than to face another potential opponent

He sounds like he's retiring again soon.

                      ????????????????????????????????????

Why did he say that too early?

anyway that's a great thing to say to another boxer to boost his confidence even more. Any little encouragement will help any fighter anytime.

I just hope it does not have a jinx on it.
