Comments Thread For: Khan-Malignaggi, Hatton-Marquez: Winners To Face Off?

Are Golden Boy Promotions setting up a junior welterweight eliminator to leave one man standing? Golden Boy's recent signing, WBA champion Amir Khan will defend his title against former Paulie Malignaggi on May 15 at the WaMu Theater in New York City's Madison Square Garden. Richard Schaefer, the CEO for Golden Boy, recently told Lem Satterfield of AOL's FanHouse, that he will try to make a fight between Ricky Hatton and Juan Manuel Marquez. Schaefer has tried to put this fight together for the last few months. [Click Here To Read More]

So I guess that means Paulie won't get a chance to fight Hatton then.

Stuff Marquez....he's got no business at that weight. Hatton v JMM is a bum fight...it's meaningless. Besides, Hatton might lose to JMM and I want to see Hatton v Khan at Wembley, so badly.

A feather puncher, then either an over the hill featherweight or a mega shot fat Hatton..... Nice matchmaking. GBP should just change their name to Sports Network and get Frank Warren in.

Why would he, he got DESTROYED in the first fight. Paulie is a third tier 140 pounder, nothing more.

There is no way Paulie gets a decision over Khan...

And i don`t see how can Hatton (being at the end of his career/past his prime) beat JMM...

But anyway, wasn`t the winner of Khan-Malignaggi face Maidana-Cayo next???

P.S. 50k on Khan over Paulie... any takers, Khan haters ? :P

****** idea, marquez had his chance with khan and hatton pissed all over paulie for 11 rounds. hatton should just retire, don't like him as a boxer, but he has already got his place in history as a good champion, just not one of the greats. he has nothing to prove.

I don't mind Hatton-Marquez. It will most likely permanently retire Hatton and it'll finally give JMM a shot at a title in his 4th weight division. I know JMM turned down Khan, but he'll probably reconsider after giving it one fight to get used to the weight.

If Hatton somehow pulls it off, it will set up a nice passing of the torch fight with Khan in England.

i bit harsh, he was ibf holder which he relinquished to face hatton, and he's only being outclassed twice in hatton and cotto and only hatton has stopped him, albeit i think he could have been allowed to finish the 12.
