Comments Thread For: Alexander, Darchinyan Shine: Post-Weekend Report Card

By Cliff Rold - There is a difference in boxing between a titlist and a genuine World Champion. There are plenty of the former, only a handful of the latter in the game right now.

Saturday presented the latest outing for one of the handful, but the star of the night was a young man adding title number two to his waist.

He had the look of genuine World Champion’s timber.

On separate networks, World Jr. Bantamweight Champion Vic Darchinyan (34-2-1, 27 KO) and WBC/IBF Jr. Welterweight titlist Devon Alexander (20-0, 13 KO) won big. They were both favorites going in but if one had bet on which man would end his night early, Alexander would have been a prohibitive underdog. [Click Here To Read More]

Darchinyan needs to fight better fighters now, its getting silly. He's proved that a step up (in weight) wont work for him so something else needs to happen. I want to see that hammering left hit someone good OR take that IBF belt from the South African dude (Nongquae or something) he doesnt deserve it, hes not good enough.
Alexander has a massive future ahead of him, i hope for his sake that Manny Pacquiao wins his elections because if he doesnt he will return to 140 where there is no one who can beat him. No one, and he will unify the division in two fights. One against Alexander and one against Bradley (Khans title will be vacant or taken from him by then)

Bradley vs Alexander needs to happen now not tomorrow or later on down the line. It's been a while since two champions of excellent calibers have faced off for surpremecy. I don't care if nobody knows them, just ask yourself who doesn't know them and you will find that it ain't the real fans. I know one thing if you going to lose it might as well be by the hands of a champion and if their first fight is great then the second will be a pay per view with a dynamite undercard.

Alexander seems like a good fighter. But he fought a guy who lost to Ricky Hatton. Yeah lets see Alexander vs Bradley. I take Bradley by the way.
