Will Saul Alvarez Live Up To The Hype?

    simple question...

will Canelo be the next big thing out of the land of champs?

does he have the tools? does he have 'elite' potential?

This kid has the goods. He can get tagged sometimes but hes 19 so defensive lapses are expected. He has good footwork, good speed, a good jab and GREAT power. In both hands. He has a dangerous right hand that he throws like how Floyd used to throw at 130. His left hook is nasty and shoots it from a distance like a jab/uppercut. Hes accurate and hes always composed and doesnt panic in the ring. Hes pretty damn good for 19 years old. Hes very skilled and doesnt brawl like the typical Mexican Warrior. Hes the real deal. Mexico should be proud they have a future World Champion on there hands.

Golden boy is in charge of his career, he is not living to the hype.

Good observation and you might be right. Handspeed might give him trouble. I thought Larry Mosley beat him, and Mosley hand speed who is not the fastest guy out there was giving him hell.

He has the charisma and the "IT" factor to be a big star. And I agree his handspeed is not on the elite level. he does have good technique and power.

He's only 19! Come on now... Make this thread next year when he finishes the 3 fights Golden Boy asked for this year. In 2-3 years, I seriously think that he will be the biggest draw in this sport. He sells out every arena he fights in, And also has the whole country of Mexico behind him unlike JCC Jr. Which no one likes in Mexico.

what's the point of making a 'will he live up to the hype' thread after? im not asking if he's gonna be the greatest ever...just want to see if you guys already or dont see him being a superstar
