I'm all for the commissions of each State mandating a new testing protocol, but I just find it funny how everyone NOW is on this tip about cleaning the sport when guys like Fernando Vargas were using steroids in 2002 and prior, yet there wasn't an uproar about changing the testing protocols then.
I genuinely think the majority of people want Pacquiao tested more than people wanting the actual sport to be clean stemming from either their dislike of Pacquiao or their allegiance to being a Mayweather fan (of course, people won't outright admit that).
It doesn't help the cause when there are at least 3-4 marquee fights coming up in the sport prior to Mayweather vs Mosley, yet only that fight and a potential Mayweather vs Pacquiao fight are the ones with the OST. Until I see some real action from the State commissions offices in whichever state is hosting a Boxing event to move forward following suite, I think it's just something Mayweather wants for his fights.Comment

if you believe that it has been only since dec of 09 when people started asking for better drug testing in the sport... then my dude wake up.I'm all for the commissions of each State mandating a new testing protocol, but I just find it funny how everyone NOW is on this tip about cleaning the sport when guys like Fernando Vargas were using steroids in 2002 and prior, yet there wasn't an uproar about changing the testing protocols then.

I keep hearing the dumb ass argument of why Manny Pacquiao?
As if Manny Pacquiao is above taking a drug test like everyone else.
As if Manny Pacquiao didnt make himself look su****ious by making irrational excuses as to why he can not take a RANDOM drug test.
But still I can hear people saying why ask for this new drug testing for this fight and not previous fights?
Simple.
Effective change in drug testing is impossible without effective precedence followed by even MORE effective momentum.
Put simply, the world of boxing would know that a new era has began when it come to better drug testing because the 2 biggest stars in the sport had made it a serious part of the fight to undergo RANDOM drug testing.
As would be the case with Mayweather vs. Pacquiao.
However, Pacquiao did not step to the plate and therefore put his entire career under su****ion. Because in this era of sports. Anybody who refuses to take the best ped test. Might has well tested positive. Because there is no room for the benefit of the doubt when it comes to athletes and PED'S
Do some research.
Anytime there is change people will always ask why now?
And usually those are the people who like thing just the way they are.
So instead of asking why now?, how about asking why not now?
Mayweather vs. Mosley is under OST. and guess what has happen.
As a result, the NYSAC has now decided to review their policies.Comment

LOL c'mon man...I live in NY. The only reason they're even mentioning that is because they want Mayweather to fight there eventually. You think they're gonna test Malignaggi and Khan in OST in May? or Cotto and Foreman in June? No...WHY? Because they're not Floyd Mayweather.if you believe that it has been only since dec of 09 when people started asking for better drug testing in the sport... then my dude wake up.

It's a business bro, the NYSAC aren't working for UNICEF. Plus, reviewing their protocols doesn't equate to them actually physically changing anything. You assume a little much sometimes. Many state commissions on a daily basis review implementing changes in the way they handle procedures whether it's drug testing or what have you. My point is that the uproar about it now is solely based on the whole ordeal with Pacquiao and Mayweather.Comment
