Hatton indeed should retire. And somebody will get KO'd in Haye-Ruiz. Just don't see it lasting 12 rounds. I wouldn't mind Haye being the one who gets stopped either.

You can argue that Ruiz was braver against Valuev than Haye was, but it's ridiculous to say he was better - Ruiz lost twice.
I agree Ruiz will be Haye's toughest fight so far, though - much tougher than Valuev was, for stylistic reasons.Comment

That's one of the silliest comments I've read for a while, even on this board. You forget, I suppose, that Calzaghe has been in boxing all his life, since a young kid, and has had an extremely illustrious career, just recently ended.
I'd venture to say that his little finger knows more about boxing than your whole body; and i suspect a 5ft. 7 inch, 250 lb. kid who plops his rear end behind a computer all day, and keeps his strength up with fast food hamburgers and potato chips, with a ton of candy bars to fill in the gaps...............................
0h yes, with the latest tiny lensed, rimless glasses.Comment

Ruiz' losses were VERY suspect, as all the reports said. If he hadn't been so brave in engaging this monster, and got in, say, 3-4 jabs a round, then kept away from him, like our fine lad Haye, Ruiz might also have had a "win".
But, we know he was too beave for that, he wanted to win by more "visible"means-and i'm sure he thought he had....................like the rest of us.Comment

Oh, by the way, I also had letters published by the RING, at least a dozen or more.Ruiz' losses were VERY suspect, as all the reports said. If he hadn't been so brave in engaging this monster, and got in, say, 3-4 jabs a round, then kept away from him, like our fine lad Haye, Ruiz might also have had a "win".

But what of it?? At least I was writing to them when Nat Fleischer was in charge, and almost every one of his writers and reporters went on to become very well known in their own right.
But again, What of it?? They're just letters, that no one will remember but you and I.Comment

hatton should retire indeed....and i can see Haye beating ruiz on KO in late rounds. The retired Joe Calzaghe, who hung up the gloves in early 2009, has once again called for Ricky Hatton to walk away from boxing for good. Hatton has been inactive since Manny Pacquiao knocked him out in two rounds last April. He announced a comeback fight for the summer. Calzaghe wants him to walk away for good.
