By Jake Donovan - Ricardo Dominguez made the most of a surprise opportunity, easily turning away countryman Leonardo Resendiz at Auditorio Pablo Colin in Cuautitlan Izcalli, Mexico.
The lightweight mismatch served as the televised main event in the latest edition of Fox Sports En Espanol’s Top Rank Live boxing series.
It was a professional effort by Dominguez from the very beginning. Resendiz was game, as evidenced by a surprise knockdown in the opening round. Dominguez was the far more talented of the two, but left himself open just long enough to get caught with a flurry of head shots en route to the bout’s first knockdown, towards the latter half of the opening round.
