Why don't more fighters try to UNIFY THE DIVISION???

All throughout boxing history not many people have unified the division. Any particular reasons??

I was just watch Holmes vs Cooner Legendary nights and holmes defended his title like 20 times but was only the WBC, why didn't he try to get the other belts too.

Goes for fighters today. Especially the up and coming ones. I understand being mayweather/pac not really giving **** about a belt but the up and comers you'd think unifiying the division would put you in mainstream where the money is!!!!!

The main (and only reason) is sactioning bodies. Now in days it's so much b.s. that goes into who becomes a mandatory along with them stripping guys because they want to take on bigger names, that the days of consistently seeing unified champs is long gone.

Too many alphabets today, and their sanctioning fees suck.

Politics pure and simple, the various organizations don't want unified champions. It destroys their brand and control.

It's a shame but I think tournaments (like Super 6) could be the way to go.

There should be only one 'champion' and the rest are just belt holders.

Wladimir Klitschko - IBF/WBO/IBO/RING Unified Heavyweight Champion of the World.

And Wlad destroyed the REAL WBA HW Champ Ruslan Chagaev who clearly beat Valuev.

The glass chinned fraud David Haye is just a worthless paper titlist.

Wlad is the rightful WBA Heavyweight Champ.

welcome to boxing! promoters and sanctioning bodies ruin it.

when I started seriously watching boxing the WBO champs didnt mean ****. 15 years later they are right up there with the other 3. it sucks
