This kid at middleweight, Jacobs, he looks pretty solid. Is switching between southie and regular well and is looking like he is comfortable at both- driving his opponent into the ropes.

Also, the heavyweight fight just got done and Eric Fields did one heck of a job, punching non-stop for four rounds and dropping his opponent twice. He was able to take some big shots as well and keep coming, and this kid has only been boxing for a year and a half! Even last years winner (and 5-0 heavyweight pro) Chazz Witherspoon was very impressed as he was helping announce from ringside.

Okay, Super Heavyweight was the least impressive weight division of the night and I was not too impressed with either guy. Both were out of shape and neither really looked like he wanted to mix it up.

            Amateur

The fact that the 201 pounder won the NATIONAL golden gloves with only 16 fights coming in and 18 months of experience behind him tells u where the USA amateur program is at right now
