his weight class was lightheavy the night he fought b-hop.
his weightclass for the future maybe back down to supermiddleweight so there will be plenty of guys to risk his fake 0 on. there are a couple guys in the super six plus lucian bute, for pavlik should he choose. and if so he'd be better off finding a trainer with a higher boxing i.q.

pavlik should stick with Lowe... but if he changes trainer, he should get with roach or steward.

It's too late to change what Pavlik knows and improve on it because what he's been doing made him the MW Champ. So I doubt if he be willing to do anything different.

It is a double edged sword, him and Loew have a good relationship so just aceing him out will stick with Pavlik for a bit and if he does not get along with the new guy he chooses it can kind of ruin him. If he picks teh right guy though he can improve a decent ammount as Loew is pretty basic in what he does, in some regards the KISS theory is good but sometimes it is good to have a broader knowledge base (Loew could get better over time).

It is a really tough answer, I do kind of agree with Steward for him, Pavlik is the type of fighter that he could possibly do alright with.

when things got bad for kelly, lowe didn't have any answers other than " double jab, right hand" against a grandmaster like hopkins, that was a joke, and also, him telling pavlik that all you have to do to beat hopkins is throw a lot of punches, " thats all calzaghe did ", and those were his words in the corner.

lowe and pavlik have a good working relationship, but he's only going to take pavlik so far. when pavlik needs other facets to his game at the world level. if he wants to keep his belt, like hopkins said, he needs to learn slickness, and also HOW TO DEAL with slickness.......and that is something lowe doesn't have in his bag of tricks.

i think lowe is great for pavlik, but in some areas they need another pair of eyes as well as some new tactics........

some fighters can have the whole package with their trainer, some need multiple trainers and coaches, and some make the changes necessary to further their career, and some don't and plateau................ kelly is at a point to make a change either way, either he does or doesn't.......
