  • Another bad decision, or more biased announcing?

What do you think about last night's events? Was Dale Brown the victim of horrible judging from Florida's finest? Or was Joe Tessitore's biased opinion a poor reflection of the actual events of the fight?

IMO 115-113 Bell was the correct scorecard, 117-111 is atrocious but either way I had Bell winning the fight (I don't listen to the announcers during fights anymore, so when I went back to watch a 2nd time I was shocked that the announce squad had Brown ahead in the fight)

I dont know but some how some way the commentaters make you see it a little their way. When I rewatched the Chavez - Taylor on mute it was a whole different story,Taylor was winning no doubt but the made it see like it was a total domination. The way the judges had the fight scored was correct in my opinion. They had Taylor by SP D.

I watched the last six rounds of the fight and Brown appeared to be beating Bell rather easily, I was shocked that, that was the oneill bell I have been hearing about. Like I said I only watched the last 6 rounds and bell only would through one or two haymakers that was missing while brown was peppering him with combos spinning and counterpunching. It was the best I have ever see brown fight, and I think brown is a bum...It was a clear robbery...Brown should have got the nod.

Lol, this is the third thread about this, anyway..I scored it:

        Brown: 1,2,3,7,8,9,11 & 12 (the 3rd could have been a 10-8)
I gave Bell the remaining 4 rd's. It was a terrible decision...all Bell had to do was go in behind his jab and straighten his punches up a bit..but he blew it.

BELL BLEW IT?? uhhhh he's the brand new IBF cruiserweight champion....

          I hope I blow it!

Seriously, Bell's legs were shot, but he piled up a huge lead in the early rounds and didn't have to win rounds 10-12 to get the title

The commentators do kind of brain wash you to see the fight their way.

The may have exagerated a bit on the fight but I think Brown clearly won. Even Shane had Brown up.

Yeah, he's the new IBF champ..gift decisions have a way of doing that. Keep in mind that I was seriously rooting for Bell the whole fight. I kept yelling at him to stop following Brown around and to cut him off..to establish his jab so he could set his shots up better and not miss so often. Oh, and to stop just standing there so much waiting on Brown to do something. And straightening his punches up some would have helped too.

I put it on mute after rd one started, and left it that way til the decision was read. I know better than to listen to any of them if I'm trying to score it..and I was rooting for Bell so I was worried about being biased.

less rooting + less listening + more watching = better perspective on the actual events

Bell wasn't Captain America or anything last night, in fact it was one of his worst showings, but when you win 7 of the 1st 8 rounds easily, you'll NEVER lose the decision!

It reminded me a whole lot of Castillo-Floyd 1, the brotha gets the early lead then puts it on cruise control, while the biased announcers begin to praise the fighter whose trying to come from behind and they proclaim the verdict as biased or fixed, sorry people the bias of the announcers these days is ludicrous, not the judges!
