    Edwin Valero returns?

    "Valero in surprise return tomorrow?
    Golden Boy disclaims involvement
May 20, 2005 - According to its website, when the WBA kicks off its KO To Drugs boxing event in Buenos Aires tomorrow, there will be a very surprising and controversial boxer participating. The WBA lists Edwin Valero on the schedule, which states that Valero will fight Hernan Abraham Valenzuela. Although it is possible Valero may be pulled off the card at the last minute, if he does actually box, it will stir up quite a debate because Valero is medically suspended in the United States after it was discovered he suffered a serious head injury in a motorcycle accident before he turned pro. Valero's promoter, Golden Boy Promotions disavowed any involvement with putting Valero in the ring. "The kid just took off," said Golden Boy executive Richard Schaefer. Although Golden Boy has appealed the suspension through legal channels, Schaefer seemed genuinely surprised by the news of Valero's bout. "

Thats kinda crazy,i thought his injurys were like life threatening, theres gotta be a lot of demand though for a guy with a record of 12-0 all by first round KO's,never seen the dude fight(nobody has,he's a myth :P ) I wonder if he'll pull out like the article suggests might happen.

I've only seen him sparring but he looks very good, he was in against Morrlaes before the Manny Pac fight and was giving as good as he got, which isnt easy agaisnt a top P4P fighter. I've seen him with other fighers but he just beat on them.

The guy can fight but this injury can be very serious.I think he should worry about his health.

Looks like he did,and won his bout, make that 13 first round ko's

"Edwin Valero defied United States law but continued his improbable string of first-round knockouts by defeating Hernan Abraham Valenzuela by technical knockout inside three minutes at the WBA's KO Drugs show in Buenos Aires. As reported in **********, Valero violated his United States medical suspension to return to boxing for the first time since late 2003. He now has thirteen first-round stoppages in as many pro bouts, with a year and a half between his last two bouts. Valero suffered a serious head injury years ago in a motorcycle accident but was able to conceal it for a while. On the same card, former 115-pound titlist contender Felix Machado, 24-5-1, also had his first bout since 2003, a ten-round decision over Colombia's Dioberto Julio, 22-3. Also, **********'s #29 junior middle Javier Mamani defeated Charlie Navarro and featherweight Pablo Estrella topped Renan Acosta, both by ten-round decision. source: Federacion Argentina De Box"
