The scheduled March 2nd purse bid for a bout between unbeaten WBO light flyweight champion Iván ´Iron Boy´ Calderón (31-0, 6 KOs) of Puerto Rico and WBO interim light flyweight Johnriel Casimero (14-0, 8 KOs) of Cebu City, Philippines is now off. Calderón´s promoter PR Best Boxing (Iván & Peter Rivera) and Casimero’s promoter Sampson Boxing LLC reached an agreement this afternoon with the bout likely to take place at the end of May in Puerto Rico. Both fighters will enter the bout with wins over solid competition. Calderón decisioned current world champion Rodel Mayol in his last bout while Casimero defeated former world champion César Canchila in his last bout win his interim title. The bout is the latest in the newly developing boxing rivalry between Puerto Rico and the Philippines.

I talked to Gio's manager a couple of nights ago and he was under the impression Iron Boy and PR Best was ready to sign the fight as paperwork had been done and sent only to have them sign to fight Casimero
