    Winky open for a uppercut?

this is more or a training question, isnt the defensive way Winky and Sturm use open for a uppercut?? they cover their ribs with their elbows and their hands cover from the top of their eyes to their jaw (from the side)

also when they are blocking shots (when their in a defensive mode) are their fists closed or open so it covers their face more????

that is what my roomate kept saying during the fight...Tito threw a few, but he didn't lead with any or throw them with intent to break Winky's guard...Winky also seems open right behind the ear when he goes into defense mode...everyone seems to only go for his chin...back of the head man...back of the head...

yeah exactly!! i thought i was the only one who saw that. Sturm was the same way he was wide open on the temple and for a uppercut.

he cant lean in and throw convincing uppercuts because he just cant get in! those jabs just made tito off balanced all night, and when he turns to his right a straight would immediately hits him.

Uppercut to the body maybe. Winky opens up juuuuuust a little when he's blocking hooks to the body on the side. As for the head, people need to swat those gloves off and **** away.

no i dont think they open to uppercuts, if they are they'd have to be pretty fast ones, i asked this question myself and i dont see how a uppercut would hit them, especailly with there jabs going

Lots of head movement like tyson, step under and to your left when you see the jab and let go a straight left or a hook .

changes his style from fight to fight..you cant just say he succeptable..vs trinadad ,trinadad would of never beat winky...only way would be to punch on angles all night long...trinadad gives no angles..and a bolo uppercut to the body wich trinadad dont got either..vs mosely winky had a different stance

I think Vargas did pretty good at slipping his jab and countering.I think this is the only way to hit Winky clean, you have to time the jab,use some head movement and a lot of faints.
Even with Vargas doing all of this the fight was super close.
I think Hopkins has the skills to do all of this but would be a close fight.

Sure he is open for the uppercuts. The ones below the belt. Just look how Tito perfectly executed them low blows.
