Comments Thread For: De La Hoya: Mosley Unloading on Sparring Partners

Golden Boy Promotions president Oscar De La Hoya spoke with BoxingScene.com on the upcoming welterweight collision between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and WBA welterweight champion Shane Mosley, scheduled for May 1 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. De La Hoya is confident the public will get their monies worth because the fight will end with a knockout. He doesn't anticipate a chess match because Mosley plans to put a lot of pressure on Mayweather from the start. [Click Here To Read More]

Oscar's really trying to sell the fight when it sells itself.

I highly doubt Mayweather will KO mosley.

The plan is simple for mosley: WIN 7 ROUNDS CONVINCINGLY.

Forget the rest as long as long as he doesnt get ko'd.

as usual, dlh shows his ring intelligence. unfortunately he is a smarter fighter than ssm by hair. Thus, meaning the same boring outcome. PBF UD!

Mayweather will not KO mosley, lets bet our points on it?
First of all, I think floyd will win but would not be surprised if mosley can pull out the victory. If floyd does win it will most likely be in boring fashion, technically beating him, being very defensive and landing the cleaner punches. If he was going to KO mosley he would have KO'd marquez in under 6.

Agreed.......For the most part. IDK if FMJ KO's SSM, being that SSM hasn't been KO'd before and has a damn good beard; but I can see Floyd getting a stoppage if he hurts Shane, or drowns him in the championship rds.

if theres a KO , it has to be mosley to score it, i cant imagine floyd knockin shane out unless he takes a page out of margacheato's book and loads his gloves. mayweather couldnt KO judah, baldomir, de la hoya, or a overweight overmatched marquez so i cant see him damaging mosley.

i see floyd tryna make it into a chess match, one punch here, run around , another punch, run around again, for the whole 12 rounds. its mosley's job to cut the ring and hit him because floyd will definetly not stand toe-to-toe, that will be suicide. but i do give floyd major props and respect for making this fight, i was one of the million who said he would never take a risk like this, he proved me wrong, he couldve easily fought malignaggi, take more criticism and still get paid, but when the pacquiao fight canceled, theres was no other meaningful opponent than mosley, if floyd beats him, then he is the best in the welterweight division, and that's huge.

my prediction ... i see floyd's quick footwork throwing mosley off balance and floyd's philly shell stance giving mosley a difficult look. i got mayweather winning by a close split decision, he'l be catching mosley in the later rounds more often once he has him timed. the only way i see mosley winning is by KO, i cant see mosley outboxing floyd since he had a hard time boxing cotto, wright and forrest, 2 of those guys were bigger but they just outboxed mosley, they didnt overpower him.

He didnt KO JMM for a reason Disolly. It was more about getting in rds with a elite boxer, and negotiation leverage for the fight with Pac.
