Let's hope because one slip up and it could all be for nothing. Clottey and Mosley aren't stepping stones, these are tough fights. Especially for Floyd IMO, that's if we see the same Mosley we saw in his last two fights.

It going to be pretty tough for Pac & May, but I think their styles match up well in their favor against Clottey & Mosley. I would love to see Shane make Mayweather eat his words, but I don't think it's going to happen.

It'll do fine. Mayweather vs Mosley obviously is a bigger fight, but unless you've been a promoter yourself, I think it's a bit of a stretch for you to tell Arum to do his job.

Who's the last promoter to put 45k people in a Stadium for a Boxing Match in the US?

Mosley vs May will prob do better PPV, but Pac vs Clottey is already a killer at the gate. So if one does more than the other in different fields (i.e. gate / ppv) it's still a success for both. One being bigger than the other isn't going to tarnish anything at all.

I was just talking about this **** in class.

My teacher knows I'm a boxer and watch boxing and all that. He asked me when Manny Pacquiao is fighting next. I was like he's fighting some tough African dude named Josh Clottey in March......wow it's already March. They're fighting like next week.

This is when I realized how soon this fight is and how little hype it has gotten. I remember EVERYONE was talking about Cotto-Pacquiao weeks before it happened.

Pac vs Floyd didn't get done so Pac went elsewhere. It happened to bring him to Clottey which I respect as a fighter but let's be real, he's not a big draw in the PPV market.

I think Arum did what he did because he had to scramble after Floyd pulled the testing BS and the fight was called.
The reason I said that is because Arum knows Pac is nearing retirement {2+/- years} especially if he wins big in politics. The blood test were in the original contract, so this issue, Arum and Team Pac were well aware of it prior to the issue becoming a big P.R. stunt.

Arum and J.J. were pushing to get boxing at Dallas stadium, and when the Floyd vs Pac fight fell through, Arum immediately threw the package in Clottey's lap. Keep in mind that both Pac and Clottey will do whatever Arum suggests. Floyd via the contract insisted on Vegas, which was another problem for Arum, since he was already liking the incentives J.J. was placing on the table.

So, this fight {After the failure to agree to terms with Floyd} was a means to collect the incentives J.J. was offering, plus get a pretty well known boxing icon to fight in Dallas. As a result, Arum secures his deal with J.J. and sets up Dallas as an alternative to Vegas.

The actual fight was inconsequential .... Arum is looking at the big picture.

Im a fan of the sport. Arum needs to do his job. You are not a pro boxer yet you tell Floyd what he should do so please enough of the high horse and lets stick to the topic.

GBP can put 45k in that stadium. They turned it down. The stadium is HUGE. Ofcourse it has to fill up.

This is typical of The Bobfather.

He will not throw money behind the promotion of a fight.

He relies on word of mouth cause he's a cheap bastard, but that's Bob for you.

He also knows that not a lot of people will travel to places other than Vegas for a fight so why spend the money on national tv ads?

He may put some cash into promotion on local tv and newspapers in the Arlington/Dallas area in the last week or two leading up to the fight for a final push on ticket sales, but that's about it.

This thing is far from being close to selling 40,000. I just pulled up seats in the 113 section which is just above the field. These are the second best seats other than ringside. They are full of it when they say this fight has sold 40,000 tickets, I don't believe it for a minute.
