        Back from the Press Conference

That press conference was better than the NYC one to me(Not only because I was there......BUT it does help.LOL). There was some smack talk ofcourse but there wasn't a whole bunch of shoving and carrying on. Floyd got the better of Shane at this conference as far as the war of words, but I think Shane was trying to play the silent type today. It was a very well put together event complete with fighter bios and clips of past fights, to keep us entertained as the fighter got ready to come out.

The fighter's entrances where simular to a ring walk(W/ Floyd coming out in a cloud of smoke, hyping up the crowd acting wild. Mosley came out more subdued but regal none the less).

At the entrance they gave out church fans(sorry thats what they remind me of), with Floyd on one side and Shane on the other. At the door they asked us (I say us cause my old lady took half the day of to accompany me to the presser.....Im turning her into a fan of the sweet science slowly but surely) Who R U Picking! Whoever you picked the gave you a pin on button with the fighters face on it.

I even had a hot debate with a fella who was clearly unhappy with the way Floyd's career has progressed since Floyd has entered the WW ranks. He made some good points and his knowledge of boxing wasn't bad. We ended up agreeing to diagree, but I did shut his arguement down on some points that he was trying to make(Thanks to some of the knowledgable posts of some of ya'll on Boxing Scene).

The only thing that I was a bit miffed about was Shane did not interact with the crowd barely at all; while Floyd on the other hand sat down on the side of the stage, talked to everybody in the crowd that was in his view and signed countless autograghs. From gloves and flyers to money and hats and Jackets, he signed them all. Floyd stayed there well after Shane left.

(side note) Paul Williams was in the crowd as well as the Peterson brothers. It was great!!!!!!!!!!

PS. Thanks to all ya'll that have responded to my previous post and made me feel truly welcome here at boxing scene. Ya'll gon see alot more of me on here.

floyd doesnt even have a promoters license.
i can go get copyrighted for an llc also, anyone can. means nothing.

secondly, talkin smack is dogging a guy on his skills, boxing exp, boxing past, that ****..

going into a man's divorce and exwife just shows that floyd even at 33 is a young punk ass.

more importantly it shows me floyd is worried, because he feels he has to get into shanes head to get him to come charging at him like a mad man to leave himself open for floyd to have success..

shane will keep laughing and then when fight time comes floyd wont be talking he will be running and frustrated he cant pot shot shane for a win.
          agreed good post

IDK bout that. Ali took things overboard too, taking in consideration the way things worked in those day. Being called and Uncle Tom and calling a black man a Gorilla publicly at that time was considered just as grave. But all in all it comes with the territory. Answer me this whats worse what Floyd, Ali, and Bernard do and have done, or Jack Dempsey not letting Sam Langford get a shot at the title when he clearly earned it; OR twisting the law of the land to force the then HW champ into giving up his title so that he can step foot on U.S. soil again(Jack Johnson)?

Started training 6 months ago. Shane is desperate and will fight if he has no legs. Of course Floyd will take this fight. Shane's vulnerable and an easy target. He is a big name and will try to capitalize on it. It is gonna be an easy boring fight.
