Felix Sturm can switch between southpaw and orthadox
and is more mobile then winky :. yet people still think he is garbage
-
Not always true, To learn how to fight is an art, to learn how to fight southpaw coming from orthodox is a major task. I guess Winky perfected it and can fight southpaw like he does but it doesnt always mean ur jabs are better. Stronger yes, faster depeneds on the fighter and also it throws off coordnation. Winky is just a very skilled boxer who can pull it off.Comment

hmm
This explains a couple things. I've sus[ected it at times because he just LOOKS like someone who is right-handed but is fighting southpaw. One way to tell is the way he throws his one-twos. Looks a little strange and doesn't have much power.
Him being right-handed and fighting as a southpaw makes his jab stronger but results in less KO's. If he fought the way he "should" fight, he'd have more KO's but not neccessarily as good of a record.Comment

I also am right handed and fight southpaw. It does help my jab out but i still have more power in my left hand. Thats kinda werid i guess.Comment

No its not, your left hand would have more power because your stepping across with it across the breth of your chest. Its traveling the greater distance and generates the power in motion. Also your pushing off your left foot, as a verse to jabbing where your stepping in off the right foot with the jab.Originally posted by FloydmayweatherI also am right handed and fight southpaw. Just a note of fighters whom fight with their lead hand being their naturally stronger mitt.
Marco A Barrera: Left handed, fight right handed
De La hoya: Left handed, fights right handed
Micheal Moorer: Right handed, fights left
Joe Frazier, naturally left handed
There are others but can`t remember off hand. But if you notice all the above fighter's best punch is a hook with their lead hand. It must improve the power. Barrera used his left hand exclusively in the 3rd Morales fight and we all know Joe Frazier`s style. De La hoya and Moorer both have powerful jabs and KO quality hooks ( however they were more effectve at lower weights ).Comment

Sturm nobody thinks Felix is garbage. It's just that you talk about him like he was the next great middle or something. I actually like Sturm and picked him to beat DLH. Anywho...
I'm left handed and my left is very powerful but I feel more comfortable in an orthodox stance. I guess i'm like Winky.Comment
