BoxingScene.com was advised that Frank Warren has won the purse bid held on Tuesday morning in Puerto Rico for the lightweight bout between WBO interim champion Michael Katsidis and number one ranked Kevin Mitchell. Warren put in a bid of $515,000, while Sampson Boxing put in a bid of $501,000. The fight will take place in England. The date and venue will be announced at a later date. The split will be 80-20 in favor of Katsidis because he is the champion and traveling to the challenger's backyard.

Might as well announce this FOTY before the fight has even begun.

Anybody who knows the two fighters will be really shocked if it is anything less than a barn-burner.

I'm picking Mitchell because I've turned into a bit of a nuthugger and when he boxes off the back foot he actually has a sound defence. But I expect him and Katsidis to end up toe-to-toe swinging for the cheap seats at some point possibly at all points.

Katsidis is always entertaining to watch. It'll be nice to see how he fairs against mitchell's technical skills. Anybody got any heads up on who's gonna televise this scrap....HBO or Showtime?
