    Found this yesterday!!

I literally have HUNDREDS of bout sheets from amateur fights and tournaments (National Golden Gloves, National JO, National Silver Gloves, Ohio State Fair, etc etc)...yesterday I came across the bout sheet and program for the finals of the 1983 Western Mass. Golden Gloves tournament...the last bout of the night????

Mike Tyson, Albany-Trinity B.C. vs Jimmy Johnson, SECC, Springfield, Mass

It'd feel weird looking at those sheets and seeing a name like Tyson. Now, of course, the name Tyson is supernatural, it's a part of history. But it's mad that there was a time when the name meant nothing and it's just there on that sheet like that.

I'd love to go back and see those fights, knowing what was to become of some these big names. I'm sure we all would.

In the National Golden Gloves you represent your franchise holder (there are 32 GG teams in the USA)...Gerald was from Freeport, Ill. but Milwaukee was where his region competed in...RJ obviously was from P-Cola but had to travel to Knoxville for the GG...Florida has their own GG tournament but RJ being from way up in the pan handle didn't qualify for Sunshine State...(Lamar Parks was from Greenville, SC but he was also on the Knoxville team with Roy)
