Do The Judges Have The Best View?

Do fight judges really have the best view of the fight? Over the years, I have often thought about what was better, sitting ringside watching a fight or watching it on TV. This subject was more than a trivial debate during the controversy of the De La Hoya-Mosley rematch. It's been reported that those sitting ringside saw a different fight than those who watched it on TV.

Those sitting ringside, with the exclusion of the HBO broadcast team, scored the fight in favor of Mosley. Those who watched the fight on TV, saw De La Hoya getting the better of it. How can this be? Most times when I saw a fight live at ringside, and then went and watched the tape of it, I usually saw the fight the same (not always, but a majority of the time).

I think this problem can be solved by putting a TV at the judges table, and giving it a camera feed. That way, we would all DEFINITELY be seeing the same fight.

suspend the judges above the ring in bullet proof glass cages. or give them a t.v. feed.

This, but not bulletproof. The crowd should be allowed to exact punishment if judges do their job poorly lololol.

Edit: Holy necro, didn't notice how old this was. Oh well.

With a switch that drops them to the crowd if a fighter gets robbed.

All you people suggesting judges should be watching it on tv have most likely never sat ringside.

Seeing the cuts and blood up close, listening to the sound of a body shot, all equate into how a judge should score a round when it comes to clean, effective punching.
