I'd favor a prime Mercer over nearly every HW today, probably all.

I don't know. Poor Lennox Lewis never got the greats in their prime, except Vitali when Lennox wasn't prime himself. I'd say that was his best win because Lennox saw he was losing, knew he wasn't in the best shape, and took advantage of the cut to stop it.

He has plenty of destructive wins I wouldn't argue with though.

Vitali is great? Ok, what's HIS best win?

Destroying Samuel Peter, it's not really his fault that the heavyweight division sucks so much. The Vitali Lennox fought was Vitali at his physical best, when Lennox was out of shape and past prime. Busting open that cut knowing he had to is damn impressive to me.

To be clear, I'm not saying Vitali compares to Prime Lennox or Tyson or anything, but the guy is clearly the best heavyweight since Lennox retired and doesn't even get challenged anymore.

So his best win was an out of shape, not very good Sam Peter. And this makes him great? At no point has he dominated the division; he's been a champ for a composite total of two years during two different periods. He avoided a fight with Hasim Rahman. Great? That term gets thrown around too loosely here. But yes, I too was impressed at the way he beat up...Sam Peter.

Tua cos he was the only guy at his prime defeated by Lennox.Tyson at that point was a fat slob and a drug addict.Holyfield was too old.Mercer got robbed and Vitali was winning and Lennox ran from a rematch like a chicken.Grant was a C fighter and Golota a B fighter like Briggs.

id say the vitali win was his best.he beat a young hungry fighter when he himself was old,out of shape and unmotivated

the way he schooled tua and holyfield was very impressive too

props to him for avenging both his losses by knockout also

thats the problem with the klitschkos

they have a great skillset but havent had the great competition to pit it against,so to call them ATG's is just wrong

Seriously. To call them great is disturbing as well. Was Chris Byrd great? He was champ a long, long time.
