Holy crap Zaveck's promoters really dug hard to find a suitably lame opponent for his first "defense." Martinez has never beaten anyone and is ranked 129th among welterweights and 7th among Argentine welterweights by boxrec. The corrupt folks at IBF just stuck Martinez in the rankings last month to make him eligible for a "title fight."
If Zaveck's people wanted him to fight an Argentine, why not Hector Saldivia, Luis Carlos Abregu or Sebastian Lujan?
Oh, that's right, they are actually legitimate contenders who would have a chance of winning. Can't have an opponent who could actually win, now could we?
