I was thinking how interesting that match would be even though tsyzu would most likely win.
COULD MICKY WARD go the distance vs KOSTYA TSYZU?

Tszyu has this nasty talent for frequently catching foes with his best shot.
A common opponent for the two is Vince Phillips who KOd Tszyu and TKOd Ward. Ward didn't fall; a cut on his eye caused the stoppage in the 3rd round of the fight staged in The Roxy in Boston in 1997 for the IBF Jr. Welter diadem.
The last time Ward went down was in the 3rd round of the 2nd fight of the Gatti trilogy. He returned the favor in the 3rd bout by putting Gatti down in the 6th.
In 1991 Ward faced Rick Meyer and lost by UD after Meyers dumped him in the 2nd.
In 1997, it was Alfonso Sanchez who sent Ward down to the canvass in the 5th of a scheduled tener. But Ward rallied back to TKO Sanchez in the 7th.
Ward is one of the poster boys of durability. Will he last the distance against Tzsyu?
I don't think he will. But I don't think he will finish the fight on his back. I think it would be the ref who'll stop it-- as he should-- with Ward standing at his side. TKO; not a KO.

it's interesting to see whether ward is a genuine tough cookie or not! tzsu is a very strong puncher, ward could go maybe 8 rounds, but the referee would stop it in the ninth because ward's face would be bloodied to the max his fans couldn't recognize him at all!Comment

Depends on how tszyu comes in....I think he would have ward out within 7...
Tszyu is no Gatti and Tszy would destroy Gatti easily.....
Ward has heart and determination no doubt about it, but Tszyu's power is the most devastating I have ever seen in lower weights, I would rival it above some if not most middleweights today.Comment

Ward is too one dimensional to give Kostya much trouble. Props to Mickey for retiring at the right time. Not many boxers can do that...Comment
