In the video Roach is asked why he fights Cotto instead of Mosley and he says he asked Mosley to fight at a catchweight and he didnt want to so they refused the fight. This is very clear that they wanted to fight Cotto because he was mentally and pshycologically ruined after the Margarito fight. Hatton had just struggled to beat Juan Lazcano and nearly been knocked out in the same fight. Hatton had already lost to Floyd Mayweather. It's very clear here.

Cotto loses to Margarito - Pacquiao wants Cotto

Pacquiao fights a shot Cotto instead of fighting Shane Mosley who holds the legit welterweight belt and also beat Margarito (Who had destroyed Cotto)

Mosley was willing to come down to 142 and Cotto is not shot only lacking confidence with a weak corner but still he was a dangerous champ for Pac and as far as Hatton against Lazcano.Lazcano ain't no bum he's a proven warrior and gives everyone hell.My point is that they know what they doing the exploit weakness on dangerous elite oponents wich is entirely different than cherry picking!!!

You're right bout Mosley not making the weight but according to ring magazine he couldve came down.And Cotto got trully discourage after the barrage of punches he was taking but still believe his not shot he just lost to one of the great boxers of this era if he's not on steroids,wich will suck cuz I like Pac!!!

I agree but it isnt just money, cherry picking also. It's not like Pacquiao would not have made alot of money fighting Mosley instead of Cotto. Either way Pacquiao has beaten alot of shot fighters and even Freddie Roach admits this. Mosley is the number 1 welterweight and Floyd is fighting him for a real title not a ****** "diamond belt" so its ****** that some idiots still criticise him

I think the main difference is that Mayweather thinks he is God, while Pac never said that he's the greatest ever or better than SRR or Ali. Thus, the standard. If you say that you are the best, then shouldn't you be held to a higher standard.

Pac overachieved while PBF underachieved. If he beats Shane, maybe he'll live up to his standards.
