there are times when you have to be defensive and pick your spots.

if you're in there with a much stronger guy or bigger guy or hits harder then you have to do that.

boxing is about adjustments. knock out the guys you can , slug with the guys who are outbox you , go for a decision on guys you can't knock out , box with the guys who punch harder.

a guy who comes into a fight automatically thinking move , pot shot and win on points no matter who he faces gets nothing from me.

You can be defensive without running like the fighters I mentioned... Those fighters that mentioned roll with the punches, used angles, to avoid the punches. Even like a passed prime Duran against Barkley and Hagler in a weight-class he just didn't belong in was very hard to hit but didn't run...

boxing is hit the guy more times than he hits you and hurt the guy more than he hurts you.

If you can hit your opponent without him hitting you.

Then why not execute this stratergy? Does his odds of winning increase or decrease when he lands a punch?
