Did the Calzaghe Loss teach Hopkins he needs to be more exciting?

It seems like after that fight, he finally figured out that holding, rabbit punching, head butting and not actually fighting is what was losing him fights?

The only reason he lost the fights with Taylor was that he didn't let his hands go enough.

The Eastman fight was awful. Then the Winky Wright fight had to be one of the worst of all time.

Hopkins was beginning to look like John Ruiz Lite.

Only to finally have it all catch up to him when he ran into a guy that wouldn't let him get away with it.

It seems that after Uncle Joe taught him a lesson about boxing, Hopkins finally started become watchable again and actually started to consider throwing more punches and actually engaging once in a while.

Thanks Joe Calzaghe, we boxing fans owe you one!!

Are you saying Bernard learned nothing from that fight?

It had more to do with the opponents after that, Hopkins knew he had a come forward fight like Tito in Pavlik and a light hitting journeyman last time out.

So don't worry he will be back to the way we are used to seeing him against Roy.

That reminds me. I need to do a punch count bet in that fight.

Maybe Roy will make him fight, what with all the bad blood and wutnot.

Neither of them break 50 a round.....its going to be very slow paced I think.

I'm sure come the rematch, Borehard would have me in a coma by at least round 4.

Everyone ****s on the Hopkins-Wright fight, but compared to all the other snoozers Hopins has been involved in since his fight with Tito,it was a good fight in my opinion.Hopkins did hold alot, but Wright forced him to actually work and not sit back and throw one punch every twenty five seconds.

His last fight was pretty **** and looking back on it,his fight with Pavlik was entertaining only in spurts.

The rematch with Taylor was the worst major title fight of the last decade.
