I had to make a decision and came up with not going to Detroit but also missing the whole live coverage of this great fight...instead I'll be ringside for Gamboa's return to Germany to chat a bit with him afterwards for BS...(hopefully catch him with some trash talking about JuanMa and Caballero... ).

Though, I hope it will be a sell-out at JLC and you having a good time...

Abe/Dirrell is going to be pretty sweet but I can see where you're at. It isn't cheap to fly half way across the world to the see the fight. You're better off waiting till the final of the super six between Abraham and Ward. Yes, I think Abraham will finish Dirrell.

Looking all suave for the fight would be sweet. You should hit up the new MGM, it's not too far from the Joe. It's got some nice eats, bars, and a night club. You should bring Tua instead though.

Tua can't fly cuz he always carries like 5 guns on him, and without them, he'd feel naked in Detroit.

All three casinos have upgraded, that's for sure. IMO, the new MGM is a cut above the rest and is nicer than majority of the Vegas casinos. I do enjoy the Greektown though. Especially since the area is clean and has a bunch of bars and good restaurants.

You know what, if I would have known that this fight would end up to be staged in Detroit in first place, I would have booked without hesitation...but with a time frame of not much than a month it just ain't possible for me and my tight budget...

Do hotels.com or priceline once you get some good advice on where, then I think you can get a quality deal and not spend too much.

All 3 major Detroit casinos will cost around 100 bucks a night on the weekend. One pain in the ass is none of them are walking distance from the Joe so you will have to take public transit(the bus) or get a cab. ****ty thing is Detroit is nothing like NYC or Chicago even for that matter. Make sure you get the number to a cab company before you leave because cabs aren't just strolling around the city. I could probably help you with some numbers if you plan on going.
