Or ya know...he could have just used illegal substances for certain fights or started using them at a certain point in his career.

Seems like a pretty obvious explanation to derail your theory.



edit: Personally, I think he used them for the Cotto fight and tried to use it on Shane. There's nothing to suggest that he used them in his past fights because as you and others have mentioned, those other guys that lost didn't take such a physical beating and turned out alright.

I've said this before, that it's not so much the alleged cheating that has turned me against Margarito. It's the fact that he turned into an all around piece of **** after he beat Cotto. It was like you had to literally drag a dog by it's tail to get him to do anything meaningful. He tried everything he could to weasle out of the fight with Shane Mosley, and the funny thing is I thought that Margarito was gonna beat him. But Mosley had other plans.

Margarito ducked the rematch with Paul Williams and he tried to duck Mosley until Arum talked him out of it and Margarito wanted to sit out a whole year to wait for a Cotto rematch (A guy he already beat for Christ Sake).

And Margarito fought Martinez when nobody cared about him as much as they do now and he fought Cintron after he looked like **** against Jesse Feliciano. At least Williams is fighting those two guys when they appear to be at the top of their game. Cintron was undefeated when Margarito beat him the first time though. But what was the point in the rematch other than another easy payday?

This is what I don't understand. Chicano79us calls Paul Williams a diva and a ducker when Margarito was one of the least active fighters in the sport fighting twice a year against guys like Six Heads Lewis, Manuel Gomez, and Maurice Brantley. And he was in the same exact position that Paul Williams is in now. A high risk, low reward fighter. But yet he talks **** about Paul Williams and degrades him at every opportunity he gets.

Wouldn't you say that Winky Wright, Sergio Martinez, Carlos Quintana, and even Margarito himself of course are better fighters than Brantley, Lujan, BBgun Gomez, and Golden Schlong.

I understand Margarito had an exciting, take no prisoners style inside the ring, but his fans still overly worship him when he is nothing special for the reasons I mentioned above.

There is no evidence that Margarito used those illegal wraps for his past fights including his fight with Cotto.

What matters is that he did get caught attempting to use plaster against Mosley. Attempting to cheat is just as wrong as actual cheating, it just means you got caught first.

If I overly worship Paul Williams, then why did I have him losing to Martinez 115-113? And you didn't address my issue by countering with that. What makes Margarito deserve to be worshipped other than the way he fights inside the ring that makes him appealing to fans who crave fighters who box in a ballsy style?

How do you expect people to take you serious when you say Margarito is the best Welterweight of the decade? If I had a twenty five million dollar payday on the horizon with De La Hoya it makes me understand why Floyd never fought Margarito.

When Max Kellerman put the microphone in front of Margarito's mouth at ringside of the Judah-Clottey fight and asked him about Mayweather, guess who's name Margarito mentioned? Oscar De La Hoya.
