I lost a lot of respect for GBP for pulling this stunt or even attempting to pull the stunt of getting Maidana to agree to this 3 fight back off deal."Building the fight" My arse. Getting rid of a threat to GBP's investment is what is going on. GBP over committed to Team Khan by guaranteening a million dollars a fight and painted themselves into a corner. I would love to know how they induced Maidana into selling himself short. I think it must have been a combination of stick and carrot. All the additional costs have to be recouped out of Khan which will lead to even more careful match making.
Oscar as a fighter should know better. fighting Khan is Maidana's best chance of getting a title. He is not a good boxer but Khan with his chin offers him his best chance. It is one thing protecting a fighter completely another where by doing so you ruin another fighter's career.
There are some moron's on this web site that keep on saying that this is not a duck if Maidana is happy with it. It is an agreement. These idiots live in some kind of delusional deam world . They are either gullible or delusional.
What goes round comes round, I really hope somehow that GBP get screwed financially and reputation wise for pulling this stunt and I hope Maidana runs the gauntlet and makes it through . If he makes it ,I would not be surprised if GBP offer him another "Fight building deal".

Look at the way Maidana was knocked down heavily against Ortiz 3 times, traded his own knockdown and eventually dominated him.

Khan will take at least one punch from Maidana if they meet in the ring and when he does - it's game over.
